Memorial Day

Monday morning we watched the forecast and storms were predicted and it was really windy - but the boys had their hearts set on taking the boat out and doing some fishing. So after lunch we loaded everything up and headed for Duncan Lake. It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon!

Levi was not certain about the whole boat thing once we were in the water. He stayed pretty close to mom and hung on very tight! It took him a little bit to get comfortable - but in the end he enjoyed himself.Justin is a die-hard fisherman - we didn't catch anything and he was SO bummed. But he also didn't like it when it was time to go!
Levi doing a little of his own casting - his pole was equipped with a rubber worm - but no hook... we were all safe that way - the fish too!

In the evening we all gathered at my parents house for a picnic. The kids climbed trees, and played soccer with Aunt Nicole.
Hamburgs, Brats & Hot Dogs were a delicious way to kick off the summer!
The cousins had a great time in the boat "fishing" with Levi's hookless pole! And you can't have a picnic without an ice cream cone!
