Pumpkins

The Saturday before Halloween we headed to a local church where they were selling pumpkins to raise money for their youth group. The kids enjoyed picking out the "perfect" pumpkin.
My little pumpkin!
Justin's pick.
Miley checking out the pumpkins!
Levi could not carry his pumpkin but he did not want anyone to take it either! He is protecting his pumpkin!

Miley's Newest Accomplishment

Miley has been getting up on all 4's and rocking back in forth! She is really strong for her age - she loves to stand next to the furniture (she can't get there herself - but if you set her next to the couch she just stands!) She is not yet 6 months so I am hoping that she doesn't catch on to the crawling quite yet! She already rolls herself wherever she wants to be! Working on the childproofing... so hard with 2 boys and lots of legos!

Miley

This sweatshirt was worn by all three of my kids! I was hoping it would get cool enough for Miley to wear it before she grew out of it. I just loved both of my boys in it and it was fun to put her in it too! I really want to compare all the kids in it - but I don't have all my pictures here with us. I may be able to find one of Justin and when I do I'll post it and we can compare!
So happy!
Serious
I just LOVE those blue eyes!
Hmmmm... let me think...

Weekend Get-Away

This past weekend we went to Tropical Palms RV Resort in Kissimmee with friends. We were going to tent, but decided on a cottage and for that we were very thankful! Friday morning Levi woke up with the stomach flu... it was not a quick one either - as parents we were struggling with whether to go our not. The boys were so excited that we decided to go and Levi really wanted to go.

We did not get to the park until 5:30 p.m. because we were waiting on Levi to feel better! However, he still hadn't kept anything down yet. He did continue to throw-up the rest of the evening but had a great nights sleep and woke up a new boy in the morning! He was feeling much better - not quite his energetic self - but much better.Saturday morning we were so excited to go outside because it was actually cold! It was in the 60's and it felt delightful! This is the boys checking out the temperature!
After breakfast we headed out on a walk to get some much needed fresh air! We walked to the pond in the park and there were signs all over the railings "Do not feed the alligators!" We really didn't think there would be alligators in the pond because we have been here 2 months and seen numerous ponds and they always say "Beware of the Alligators" and there is never any that we an see. So we were very surprised to see Alligators actually looking at us!
The boys loved seeing the alligators and had to call their cousin Jonathan right away and tell him they saw an alligator! Jonathan has been asking and was so excited for us!

The Dad's and the kids played miniature golf and the Dad's won.
All the kids in the pool - the air was pretty cool but the pool was warm!
This was the first time Miley tried out her pool seat! She loved it! She really likes the water and doesn't even mind when she gets her face wet!
Chatting with Daddy!
The crab was the only pool toy I could find that she could sit in - not my first choice but at least she wasn't "crabby" in it!
Sitting by the fire.
Eric with Micah & Miley (they are a little less than a month apart).
Miley waiting for her dinner!
It was so cold (in the 60's) we must be true Floridians! The average temp has not been below 90' since we arrived so a 20-30' temperature drop makes it seem much colder!
Miley fell asleep in her cozy Hotsling.
We thought we had kicked the bugs... but we didn't Saturday night it was Justin's turn to be sick! Sunday morning we packed up and headed for home first thing!

All in all it was a good weekend. It was good to be with friends - but it would have been so much better if we would have all been healthy!

We LOVE the Webcam

We love talking to our friends and family on the webcam! It is so nice to have such great technology available. It really makes the distance not feel quite so far! We talk to Grandpa & Grandma R. a couple of times a week and we look forward to the 2nd & 4th Sunday's when all of our cousins meet at Grandma & Grandpa M's house! The kids love "seeing" their cousins & friends!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Happy Birthday Grandma! We wanted to sing to you on the webcam - but you must be out celebrating your day! So here is your birthday wishes from the south!!

If you only knew what it took to light those candles! We have no matches or lighters...

Love you Mom! Thanks for being a wonderful mom and the best friend a girl could ask for! I am so blessed! God is so good!

What We've Been Up To

Miley and Dad watching some t.v. together.

Smiley Miley
She sits! Miley started sitting on her own and she loves her new found freedom.
We bought a new table off of Craigs List and now Miley can sit by the table with us. She loves being a part of the meal time!
Our first family dinner all together!
Grandma & Grandpa Reitsma sent the boys a box of matchbox cars & gum! They were pretty excited about what they saw when they opened the package! (We left all of our matchbox cars in the storage unit in Michigan!)
Miley helping Dad study!
Florida has lizards... you know you live in Florida when your son puts his toy lizard on a leash and walks him around the house!
The boys go to Awana at our church on Wednesday nights - they LOVE it! Every night has a theme and this past Wednesday was crazy hair night - it is pretty hard to make short boy haircuts crazy - but we did our best!
They really liked how it felt after mom put all the "gunk" in it to make it stay up!
Before Miley was born we came to Florida and I bought this very "Florida" looking dress (it cost me $2). Once she arrived I didn't think it was quite as cute so it has been hanging in her closet. However, Levi loves this dress and begs for her to wear it every day - so finally she wore the dress and Levi thought she was beautiful!
We bought an inexpensive electric weed whip and Justin wanted to learn how to use it. He wants that to be his job! Works for me!
Miley chillin' with Dad.
We think that Miley is going to be a skydiver. When she is on the floor her arms and legs are almost always up and it looks like she is flying!
Amazing Florida sky.
We had a fairly cooler day - upper 80's - so the boys got out their bows and did some target practice.
The boys really miss shooting every day!
Grandma & Grandpa Reitsma sent us a box of goodies and inside it were Shrek headbands - the kids thought they were pretty silly!
Justin & Miley - Justin loves to do things that he sees Daddy do.
"Hi Mom!"
Having a heart to heart - so sweet.
Miley LOVES her baths.
So cute!
I love those blue eyes!
All ready for church in her dress from Jill. She looked so cute!
"I got him!"
Just hangin' out.
The boys catching "creatures" in the pond.
Yesterday we went to Fort Drum to the lake to try some fishing. We weren't successful - we ran into others who were there pig hunting - they had seen alligators in the lake! We didn't see any. Usually I guess this is a good hunting place but because of the above average heat we are having nothing is moving!
Levi has gotten really good at taking care of his own fishing pole and changing his lures.
Miley hanging out in her bumbo - she likes to arch her back and almost get herself out - the tray helps keep her in!
She loves her swing and almost always falls asleep!
Today she wore her pretty dress from Makayla. She looked so pretty!
I love Sunday's cause she gets all dressed up and looks so pretty!
