After we left OshKosh we headed north to the U.P. we spent July 31 - Aug 2 camping at Straits State Park in St. Ignace. The weather was supposed to be iffy but ended up being beautiful! We hiked up to the top of the park and the boys were looking at the bridge.

My boys favorite past time - skipping rocks.

Miley and I watching the boys...

Miley most definitely has Eric wrapped around her little finger...

Deep in conversation with Eric.

Our campsite

"Hi Mom!"

Justin jumping his bike.

The boys were facinated with Eric's axes.

Eric impressed them by throwing the ax and getting it to catch in the tree trunk.

Can't be camping without the campfire.

Roasting hot dogs...

Levi spent an unbelievable amount of time making sure that his marshmallows were "perfect golden brown"!

Eric & Miley having a treat at the Horse & Buggy Museum on Mackinac Island. They had homemade donuts... that were still warm! So good!

We didn't take our bikes to the island so we walked, and walked, and walked. The boys did great and it was great to see more of the island that we have missed in the pass zooming by on bikes.

Walking the boardwalk.

Of course we can't go to the island with out some ice cream!

Playing in the park.

Riding bikes in the campground - it is so nice to see both of my boys riding together. Levi is doing so well!

"Look Mom, no hands!"

Levi enjoying his independence!

The ride home was very long! We ended up taking back roads all the way home from Gaylord because the wind was blowing over 30 mph and it was blowing the truck and trailer all around. Miley did not enjoy the ride home... I spent most of the trip in the back seat entertaining her. I had the bright idea to put Justin's tv in front of Miley and it worked! She calmed right down and watched the screen... no sound... just the picture. Not that I promote tv watching but at that point... whatever works!
